Raw Gems have both a variable number of Hardness which determines how difficult that Gem is to cut on Gemcutter's Wheel and a have a variable number of Carats determined purely on chance, which gives a bonus to the Cut Gem's Affluence and if over 1.00 carats, change that Gemstones size. Finding Any Raw Gem during a Blood Moon will instead give you a Blood Shard. Finding Any Raw Gem while Sifting reduces a bit of Insanity.

Tickling another pilgrim transfers your Insanity to them - lowering yours but raising theirs. The longer you Tickle the more Insanity you will transfer, however, any action that causes you to involuntarily stop Tickling, such as the pilgrim moving away, will cause you to gain a large amount of Insanity and may cause your Quill to break. Tickling is NOT a Crime! and therefore will NOT leave Evidence or Scents.
Tongs
Tongs are required to be equipped in order to remove a Bloom from a Finery Forge and bring it to a Trip Hammer in the process of making Wrought Iron Bars.

Whipping a criminal will deal permanent damage to their Humours. This damage is determined by the Whipper's Justice Score and is increased if the criminal is offline. Whipping damage will not cause a criminal's Humours to drop lower than 5. Whipping a criminal adds 100 Justice Points and getting Whipped adds a small amount of Insanity.
