==Idea behind the Events==
+
==Dead Whale==
John Carver:<br />

"There are now dozens of new items in the game related to special events you can find in the wilderness. Finding these strange, wondrous, or sometimes spooky structures and discovering what they mean is something we're going to leave up to you! This mechanic will most likely need a lot of balance and tweaking that will require use on a large-scale vs. our test server environment. As it stands at launch each season a random number of exploration events will be seeded throughout the world. On Popham that number will be closer to 100 and on Providence that number will be closer to 1,000. The hope is that on each turn of the season the Pilgrims will feel an incentive to leave their base and get out exploring."

==How many events==

John Carver: "We will be launching this patch (1.2) with (5) different exploration events but will be making an effort to push a handful of new ones in subsequent patches."

==Where and when they spawn==

*Events do not spawn on either a town, pclaim, or the starting town. They appear when the season changes and they will remain on the map until a player has collected the related items.

About

At the change of each Season about 1,000 Exploration Events as seeded through out the New World. These events remain there until found and used up by a pilgrim. A sound is played once you get close to an Event. Events often spawn in the same spots each Season, although this method of finding Events is far from guaranteed. Events typically do not spawn on Town or Personal Claims.

Frozen Mammoth

Found rarely in the Snow icon.png Snow biome, a Frozen Mammoth icon.png Frozen Mammoth can be melted by clicking it with a Primary or lit Secondary Source of Fire icon.png Fire. Once melted, right-clicking a Frozen Mammoth and selecting "Harvest Flesh" will give you 5x Mammoth Flesh icon.png Mammoth Flesh and selecting "Harvest Tusks" will give you 2x Mammoth Tusk icon.png Mammoth Tusks. Destroy icon.png Destroying a Frozen Mammoth will instead give you 2-3x Frozen Mammoth Flesh icon.png Frozen Mammoth Flesh.

Gingerbread House

Pot of Gold

Rainbow

Found rarely in the Marshland icon.png Marshland biome, right-clicking a Pot of Gold icon.png Pot of Gold and selecting "Collect Gold" will give you 36x Golden Egg icon.png Golden Eggs.

Traveling Merchant

Rarely, when traveling through the Autumnal icon.png Autumnal biome, animal merchants sometimes lose a few of their animals in the dense forest. When this happens, an assortment of 1 - 5x baby Domesticated Animalss can be found. These animals will live and die as normal, so occasionally adult animals will be found, but more commonly, just their carcasses.

Wrangling Animals

Wrangling a Domesticated Animal allows you to lead them around, bring them into Buildings, and Fast Travel with them. To wrangle a Domesticated Animal select a Rope icon.png Rope and right-click it onto the baby or adult Domesticated Animal you wish to wrangle. This will cause you to walk over to them. Once you reach that animal you can move your Rope directly into either of your hand slots. You can test if it worked by walking away and checking that they follow. To release the animal, move your Rope out of your hand slot and into your Inventory. Using 2x Ropes, one in each hand, will allow you to wrangle two different animals at the same time. The Wrangling Skill is NOT required to wrangle Domesticated Animals.

Shoo!ing Animals

Domesticated Animals which are NOT being lead can be right-clicked to Shoo! them. This will cause them to walk a little bit away from you. This can be useful when needing to clear a path through your animals.

Wishing Well

Right-clicking a Wonderful Whimsical Wish will allow you to choose to "Wish for Wealth" to be given 1000x Silver Pieces, "Wish for Wisdom" to be given +10 levels to any Proficiency at random, or "Wish for Luck" the effects of which are still unknown. Making any wish will consume the Wonderful Whimsical Wish. CAUTION: An ordinary Well will also accept Silver Pieces, but has no limit, if you ever add more than 99 Silver Pieces to a Well without receiving a Wonderful Whimsical Wish, that is an ordinary Well not a Wishing Well.

Wrecked Caravan

Wrecked Caravan

Found uncommonly in the Grassland icon.png Grassland biome, 1 to 4x Wrecked Wagon icon.png Wrecked Wagons circling a Fireplace icon.png Fireplace. Using Destroy icon.png Destroy on a Wrecked Wagon will reveal a hidden Barrel icon.png Barrel filled .01 to 25.00 kilograms or either Pepper icon.png Pepper orSugar icon.png Sugar. Very rarely you may find a Big Barrel icon.png Big Barrel which contains significantly more.

Exploration Event Boulders

Obsidian Boulder icon.png Obsidian Boulders can be found rarely in the Crag icon.png Crag biome. An Obsidian Boulder can be Chipped to receive Obsidian icon.png Obsidian. Select Stone icon.png Any Stone and right-click it onto a piece of Obsidian to receive either Obsidian Fragments icon.png Obsidian Fragments or an Obsidian Arrowhead icon.png Obsidian Arrowhead.

Exploration Event Trees

Exploration Event Trees are Tree icon.png Trees which rarely spawn in certain biomes after a Season change. When spawned, an Exploration Event Tree will replace an existing Tree. Right clicking an Exploration Event Tree will give you a variety of options in which to gather resources. Once harvested Exploration Event Tree will cannot be harvested again. Eagle Tree icon.png Eagle Trees spawn in the Coniferous icon.png Coniferous biome, while Hangman Tree icon.png Hangman Tree spawns in the Greenwood icon.png Greenwood biome. A Hanging Man Tree is a Witnessed Insanity event; seeing an un-L3wted Hangman Tree will add a large amount of Insanity.

Witnessed Insanity

Witnessed Insanity is Insanity which is gained by doing insane actions. When witness insane things you will gain Insanity each time you come into range of that thing. This means the same event can cause you to gain a lot of Insanity if you continue to leave and come back to the same area without dealing with the thing causing you to gain Insanity.

Chop

With the Lore of The Lumberwoods Skill learned and Any Axe icon.png Any Axe equipped, right-clicking on an Exploration Event Tree and selecting "Chop" will Chop down the Tree to produce a Hollow Log icon.png Hollow Log. When an Exploration Event Tree is Chopped down it leaves a Hollow Stump icon.png Hollow Stump behind. When Chopped down an Eagle Tree will produce an Eagle Nest icon.png Eagle Nest. Right-clicking an Eagle Nest and selecting "Raid Nest" will give you a variable amount of Eagle Egg icon.png Eagle Eggs and Eagle Feather icon.png Eagle Feathers.
