About
Performing the Mine action with Any Axe or Any Pickaxe equipped on a cracked wall within a Mine Entrance will dig away that wall section and yield an Ore Boulder.
With Any Axe or Any Pickaxe Chip a Ore Boulder to get Ore or a Boulder to get Stone. Rarely instead of an Ore or Stone you will instead receive a Sterling Geode or Whetstone at the same Purity as the Ore. A Whetstone can be used to Sharpen all Swords and Halberds, such as Adventurer's Rapier, Claymore, Executioner's Axe, Halberd, Golden Halberd, Nobleman's Rapier, Pirate Captain's Sword, or Spanish Sabre. Sharping such weapons transfers the Purity of the Whetstone onto the weapons. Having a higher Purity caused them to deal more damage. An Arcane Amethyst is rarely obtained when Chipping Boulders during a Bloodmoon.
Ore Chipped from an Ore Boulder can Smelted in a lit Ore Smelter to make Metal Bars. Iron Ore is used to make a Bar of Pig Iron, Copper Ore a Bar of Copper, and Silver Ore is used to make Silver Bars. Rubble Chipped from a Rubble Boulder can be Sift Rubble with a Sifting Pan to possible get either Black Sand, Dravite, Goldflakes, Phosphophyllite, Rubellite, or Uvarovite.
A Boomstick can be used to blow up a Ore Boulder. To blow up a Boulder select your Boomstick from your inventory and right-click it on a source of Fire, such as a lit Torch or Fireplace. This will turn your Boomstick into a Lit Boomstick. You must now quickly select your Lit Boomstick and right-click it onto the Boulder you wish to blow up. Blowing up a Boulder will scatter it's Stones in a short radius around where the Boulder was. You can then pick them up if you wish to save them.
