Ore Smelter
|
AboutAn Ore Smelter is an Ignitable Structure used to Smelt Ore into Ore Metal Bars. It has room for 25x items. An Ore Smelter must be built outside. An Ore Smelter only accepts Charcoal as Fuel. SmeltingThe amount Ore Metal Bars produced in your Ore Smelter is based partially on chance but mostly influenced by the Ore/Lime ratio and your Alloying Artifact Bonus. Currently, the best Ore/Lime ratio is 13x Lime and 12x Any Ore of one type. To smelt place your Lime and Ore in a lit Ore Smelter. After about 40 minutes at least one of your Ores will be replaced with a corresponding Ore Metal Bar and the rest of your Ore will have become Dross. The number of metal bars depends on the alloying artifact bonus, the smelter’s previous run, and chance. Each time a Dross is produced there is a chance for it become A Face in the Dross instead. Using a Little Limestone in place of one of your Limes may also increase the number of Metal Bars that are created. Ore MetalsOre Metals are Metal Bars that can be made from Metal Ore Mined straight from the earth. Any Ore Chipped from an Ore Boulder can be smelted in a lit Ore Smelter to make Ore Metal Bars.
Iron PurityThe Purity of a Bar of Pig Iron comes from the Iron Ore Boulder the Iron Ore used to make it, was Chipped from. Iron Ore Boulders' get their Purity from a combination of Mine Level, distance from the ramp, and chance. Iron Purity will transfer directly onto Fish Hooks, Knife Blades, or any Wrought Iron Bars made from it. Metal Forging Skills
Building StructuresSelecting a structure from the build menu or its sub-menus will place a Building Blueprint Sign at the position of the cursor and then clicking a valid building location on the ground will place the sign and open a window prompting the player to deposit the necessary materials and build the structure. Each material is followed by a series of three numbers.
Players can take their time building structures by depositing and committing resources to the build sign by clicking the "build" button. The character will build as much of the structure as they can with the available resources. They can return with more resources in the future. Note that if no resources are deposited, the build sign will disappear when the player walks away. If resources are deposited, but the player hasn't built them into the structure, the uncommitted resources will slowly disappear over time. This is to combat players using build signs as cheap and overpowered storage containers they can deposit and retrieve resources from. |
