About

Using an Anvil icon.png Anvil, a Sword Blade icon.png Sword Blade and Sword Hilt icon.png Sword Hilt can combined to make a Spanish Sabre icon.png Spanish Sabre. In addition to crafting, a Spanish Sabre can also be purchased in from Torvold Starkajärn in Providence for 500x Silver Pieces icon.png Silver Pieces. A Spanish Sabre will take on the Purity of the Wrought Iron Bar icon.png Wrought Iron Bars used to make the Sword Blade icon.png Sword Blade. A Spanish Sabre can be hung on a wall.

Weapon Purity

Craftable metal Weapons such as Halberd icon.png Halberds and Spanish Sabre icon.png Spanish Sabres initially take their Purity from the Wrought Iron Bar icon.png Wrought Iron Bars used in their construction but the Purity of all Polearms and Sword can be modified by selecting a Whetstone icon.png Whetstone and right-clicking it on the Weapon and selecting "Sharpen". This will consume the Whetstone and transfer its Purity onto the Weapon. Purity increases the amount of damage done by the Weapon by up to 10% at 100% Purity.

Thrust Attack Move

With the Fencing Skill learned and a Sword type Weapon equipped, pilgrims can use the Thrust icon.png Thrust Combat Move. Thrust is a Piercing Attack which if it connects will deal a high amount of Blood damage. Thrust has a relatively long animation so it is often pair with other Combat Moves which apply the Stunned icon.png Stunned affect. Using Thrust consumes Yellow Bile and does Blood damage based on your current Yellow Bile, the Purity of your Sword, and your combined Piercing Power and Common Combat Power Artifact Bonus. Piercing Defense and Common Combat Defense Artifacts will reduce the damage you take from the Thrust Attack.

Parry Combat Move

With the Fencing Skill learned and a Sword type Weapon equipped, pilgrims can toggle on the En Garde! icon.png En Garde! Combat Maneuver. Toggling on En Garde! allows you to use the Parry icon.png Parry Combat Move. A successful Parry will block any Thrust icon.png Thrust coming from the direction you are facing and cause your Attacker to be Stunned icon.png Stunned. An unsuccessful Parry will instead cause you to become briefly Stunned. En Garde! is mutually exclusive with Run icon.png Run which means that you will sacrifice maneuverability to use this Move.
