About

Potable Water is the Water that is used in crafting recipes and Gardening icon.png Gardening. If you are looking for info about the Water Terrain type see Bodies of Water icon.png Bodies of Water.

Potable Water is obtained by selecting a Vessel, most commonly a Bucket icon.png Bucket, from your inventory and right-clicking on The Shallows icon.png The Shallows, a Well icon.png Well, or another Vessel already filled with Potable Water. (Do not left-click otherwise you will lose the Bucket!)

Crafting

For recipes which require Water, a Vessel filled with at least that much Potable Water must be in your inventory.

Cooking

Potable Water is used to Boil several items and in the making of Any Tea icon.png Any Tea. To Boil an item place Fuel and Light your Fireplace icon.png Fireplace. Fill your Clay Pot icon.png Clay Pot or Copper Pot icon.png Copper Pot with Potable Water and then place over your lit Fireplace. Click your Pot, select Open and put in the items you wish to Boil. When your item is done Boiling, its icon will change.

Cleaning

Both Tokens icon.png Tokens and Milkweed Jute icon.png Milkweed Jute can be cleaned using Potable Water. Select any Vessel filled with at least 1 liter of Potable Water from your inventory and right-clicking on the Rusty Coin icon.png Rusty Coin or Charred Milkweed Fibre icon.png Charred Milkweed Fibre you want Cleaned. This will consume the 1 liter of Potable Water.

A Bar of Bubbly Soap icon.png Bar of Bubbly Soap or Bar of Rose Scented Soap icon.png Bar of Rose Scented Soap can be washed by selecting a Vessel of Potable Water and right-clicking it on the Soap. This will produce a Cloud of Lather icon.png Cloud of Lather. This can be done 4 times before the Soap is fully consumed. Each time you do this there is a chance to receive a Rainbow Soap Bubble icon.png Rainbow Soap Bubble instead. Keep in mind that a Bar of Bubbly Soap can no longer be sold at the Vendor Stalls if you have used it to make any Cloud of Lather.

Used in Paper Making you can Soak a Ball of Rags icon.png Ball of Rags to get get a Soggy Rag Ball icon.png Soggy Rag Ball by selecting a Vessel of Potable Water and right-clicking it onto Ball of Rags you want Soaked.

Gardening

To Plant any item in a Gardening Pot icon.png Gardening Pot both Humus icon.png Humus and Potable Water is required. To Water a Gardening Pot select any Vessel filled with at least 1 liter Potable Water from your inventory and left-click on the Gardening Pot you want Watered. This will consume the 1 liter of Potable Water.

To speed up Gardening when using many Gardening Pots a Barrel icon.png Barrel which holds 100 liters, Big Barrel icon.png Big Barrel which holds 500 liters, or Water Tower icon.png Water Tower which holds 20,000 liters, can be filled with Potable Water and stored nearby.

Drinking

When poured into a Barkcup icon.png Barkcup, Flask icon.png Flask, or Goat Horn icon.png Goat Horn, and equipped in the left hand, Potable Water can be sipped to recovers 1% of your max Phlegm. Each Sip will add 10 to the Quaffed & Quenched debuff.
