Caterpillar icon.png Caterpillars are commonly found in the wild, inside Myrtle oak tree icon.png Myrtle Oak Trees, when Dissecting Argopelter Gizzard icon.png Argopelter Gizzards, or when Picking Honeysuckle Kudzu icon.png Honeysuckle Kudzu. Additionally, when Picking ripe Any Vegetable icon.png Any Vegetables which have sat for a day or two, you may occasionally find that a Caterpillar has eaten one of your Vegetables and taken its Purity.

Raising Butterflies and Moths

While a Caterpillar icon.png Caterpillar can be fed Any Plant icon.png Any Plant its favorite food is Honeysuckle Kudzu icon.png Honeysuckle Kudzu. Selecting a Caterpillar and right-clicking it on a Honeysuckle Kudzu will allow the Caterpillar to consume it. Each time a Caterpillar eats a Honeysuckle Kudzu it's Minimum and Maximum gluttony Blood values will increase by +1 and there will be a chance the Caterpillar will turn into a Cocoon icon.png Cocoon. A Cocoon left in a Container for a few days will hatch into either Any Butterfly icon.png Any Butterfly or Any Moth icon.png Any Moth. Right-clicking a Cocoon and selecting "Set Free" gives you a Partially Deformed Caterpillar icon.png Partially Deformed Caterpillar and a Cocoon Husk icon.png Cocoon Husk. NOTE: Setting Free a Caterpillar from its Cocoon early adds a good bit of Insanity.

Bug Purity

Any Bugs icon.png Any Bugs can have their Purity altered by selecting the Bug and right-clicking it on Any Plant icon.png Any Plant. The Bug will then consume the plant and take on that plant's Purity. This is a direct transfer of Purity, meaning feeding Any Bug a Plant can cause its Purity to increase OR a decrease, so be careful.

Pests

A Gardening Pot icon.png Gardening Pot can't be Destroyed by normal means, Pests can instead be applied to Gardening Pots by selecting a Pest and right-clicking it on the Gardening Pot. Each Pest added will reduce the Gardening Pot's Purity until it reaches reaches 0, then each additional Pest will do damage instead, at 100% damage the Gardening Pot will break.
