About

Granite can be found rarely on the ground, but more commonly Granite Boulders are found scattered across the surface of the New World. With Any Axe or Any Pickaxe equipped right-click a Granite Boulder and select "Chip" to receive up to 25x Granite. Alternatively you may load any Boulder into a Stamp Mill, or blow it up with a Lit Boomstick. When Chipping any Boulder there is a chance to receive a Sterling Geode or Whetstone at the same Purity as the Boulder, or rarely an Arcane Amethyst during a Blood Moon.

Once the Quarrying skill has been learned, with Any Shovel equipped you can Dig Stone Boulders from a Quarry or Mountain. With the Granite Excavation skill learned there is a chance to get a Granite Boulders instead when Digging on Quarries. This chance is based off your Mines & Mountains Proficiency and chance. Learning Ambitious Excavation will help you Dig out Boulders faster.
