Mountains found are scattered throughout the New World and distinguishable from Quarrys by their massive size and dramatic, often nearly impassable, elevation increase. Mountains can be seen on the Salem Dev Map. Generally, Mountains cannot be built on or Paved over. With the Quarrying Skill learned, and Any Shovel equipped, you can Dig Boulders from a Quarry. With the Granite Excavation Skill learned you will have a chance to Dig up a Granite Boulder instead. The chance of Digging up Granite Boulder is based on chance, your Mines & Mountains Proficiency, and whether or not you have learned the Ambitious Excavation Skill. Unlike Quarries, Digging Boulders from a Mountain, will not lower the terrain, making Mountains an inexhaustible source of Stone.
