About
Charcoal can be used as both a Fuel and a Fertilizer. Additionally Charcoal, when added to a Baby Brazier or Blazing Brazier, give 25 Ammo. Charcoal can be stored in a Stockbin.
Making Charcoal
- With 20x
Woodblocks on hand Build a Coal Clamp.
- With a source of
Fire on hand, light your Coal Clamp.
- Wait 56 hours for the wood to burn down. When the Coal Clamp is finished burning the graphic will change from smoking to black.
- Right-click on the Coal Clamp and select "Gather Charcoal". The amount
Charcoal is determined by the Purity of the Woodblocks used, chance, and your Sparks & Embers.
WARNING! When Collecting Charcoal with higher Madness levels you may receive a Ravenous Flame which will burn your items and do Blood Damage!
Brazier Purity
When Collecting Charcoal from a Coal Clamp there is a chance to receive an Unscathed Wood instead with a Purity equal to the average of all the Woodblocks used in the Coal Clamp's construction. Woodblock Purity is influenced by Gardening Purity. The Purity of a Baby Brazier and Blazing Brazier always starts a Purity of 0%, but each time an Unscathed Wood is added with a Purity higher than your Brazier, that Brazier gains 10% of the difference. An Unscathed Wood can be added even if the Brazier is full. The Purer your Brazier is the higher the chance of your Brazier dealing Critical Damage.
