In-Game text"Till the monster stirred, that demon, that fiend Grendel who haunted the moors, the wild Marches, and made his home in a hell." –Beowulf, circa 1000 While many make a habit of running or fleeing from the darkness, there are a few who choose to venture into it. Monster Hunting allows a pilgrim to both engage and harvest the more fearsome of creatures. AboutMonster Hunting is a Hunting Skill which allow pilgrims attack and harvest Monsters. To Butcher a dead Monster right-click on its corpse and select "Butcher". Monsters include: Knives and ButcheringHaving a Knife equipped when Butchering or Skinning creatures will speed up the process, transfer Purity, and prevent the Insanity gained when Butchering by hand. When you finish Butchering any Creature it will leave a temporary Blood Splatter behind.
Meat and Knife PurityA Knife will take on the Purity of the Bar of Pig Iron used to make its Knife Blade. The Purity of your Knife will transfer directly onto the Meat you receive when Butchering a Creature while your Knife is equipped. Hunting Skills
NOTE: Creatures can still attack you and you CAN defend yourself and kill them, but without the proper Skills you cannot initiate the attack nor Butcher the defeated Creature. |
