In-Game Text
"It has a black and white plumage, wrinkled skin on its neck, and on the top of its head a fleshy crest which, when the cock gets angry, swells up and covers its whole snout; on some of them that crest is a russet colour mixed with bluish purple."
– Bartolomeo Scappi, Opera dell'arte del cucinare, 1570
Many are the peculiar lifeforms which in the time of the great flood left Noah's ark to find terra firma in this New World, and few among them are more peculiar than the Turkey. Turkey Farming allows you to construct Turkey Coops, which can be used to breed Turkeys.
About
In order to breed Turkeys, you need at least one Turkey Gobbler present in your Turkey Coop for your Turkey Hens or Fertile Turkey Hen to lay Turkey Eggs, once the turkey hen lay an Turkey Egg, left the egg untouched in a Turkey Coop for 48 hours will hatch a Turkey Poult, the poult will grow into Turkey Gobbler or a Turkey Hen afterward.
CAUTION! A Turkey Egg that has been touched or moved at all will cause it to never hatch.

Species and Breeding
Turkey Gobbler and Turkey Hen can be caught in the wild or raised from a Turkey Poult. In the wild they all look the same, you won't see which type of Turkey it is until you pick up a stunned Turkey.
A domesticated Turkey will have the purity of the Turkey Egg it was hatched from. Both Turkey Gobblers and Turkey Hens also produce Turkey Droppings.
Fertile Turkey Hens are only found in the wild or hatched in Red Easter Egg. In the wild they look like a normal turkey.
Fertile Turkey Hen will lay Turkey Eggs faster than a Turkey Hen, and produce Fertile Turkey Droppings which are a better fertilizer than Turkey Droppings. Rarely a Fertile Turkey Hen will give birth to a Golden Goose.
Golden Goose can only hatched by Fertile Turkey Hen. Golden Goose will lay Golden Eggs instead of Turkey Eggs.
The following table shows how they are obtained and what they produces:
Poultry | How Obtained | Produces |
---|---|---|
Fertile Turkey Hen | Turkey | |
Golden Goose | Fertile Turkey Hen | Golden Egg |
Turkey Gobbler | Turkey Droppings | |
Turkey Hen | ||
Turkey Poult | Turkey Egg |
Eggs appear in the space beneath the Turkey Hens. If that spot is occupied, then the Hen will not lay an Egg.
Turkey Droppings or Fertile Turkey Droppings appear in the bottom left spot and work their way across before moving up the next row. This is important to remember, because it means that Hens in the bottom row will often be unable to lay Eggs because the Turkey Droppings will block the space beneath them.
Food Supply
Turkey's kept in a Turkey Coop must be fed, otherwise they will stave. To fill a Turkey Coop with food, select the item you wish to add from you inventory and right-click on the Turkey Coop.
The Turkey Coop has a 200 point food capacity.
Items that can be placed in the Turkey Coop:

Purity
Domesticated Turkey will inherit the Purity of the turkey egg that it hatched from, the purity of the egg is based on 2 things: the average purity of all turkeys inside of it and the purity of Turkey Coop, the egg's purity is capped at Turkey Coop's purity +5%.
Turkey Coop are start at 0% purity, each time when an egg is laid, if the egg's purity is higher than the turkey coop, the turkey coop's purity will increase by 0.1%. With higher purity turkey
Wild Turkey are always 0% Purity, because they only reduce the average purity, so its better to replace them as soon as possible.
