"We, whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord [...] Having undertaken [...] a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents, solemnly and mutually [...] covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic; for our better ordering, and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid [...]"

-The Mayflower Compact

Once Established in the New World the needs for more formal institutions of societal organization soon present themselves to a budding Colony. Compacts & Constitutions allows you to inaugurate Charter Towns by which to organize members in your hitherto informal community, and by which to exert control over larger tracts of land. Found your polis by acquiring a Town Charter from a Magistrate of the Royal Company of Hudson's Bay, and use it to construct a Town Bell. Compacts & Constitutions allows you to inaugurate Charter Towns by which to organize members in your hitherto informal community, and by which to exert control over larger tracts of land.

About

Along with a Town Charter purchased in Providence for 2,500 silver, Compacts & Constitutions allows a character to create a town, complete with a claim belonging collectively to the town.

All towns begin their claims with a Town Bell, of which there may be only one. The original town claim is 101 x 101 squares, centered on the Town Bell. The town may be expanded with the Boundry Stone (small claim expansion) and Cross of Saint George (large claim expansion), of which there may be several.

The town has an upkeep cost that increases with town claim size. See Town Bell for further details.
