In-Game Text

"'Cinderella,' Said the Fairy, 'I am your godmother, and for the sake of your dear mamma I am come to cheer you up, so dry your tears; you shall go to the grand ball to-night, but you must do just as I bid you. Go into the garden and bring me a pumpkin.'"

– Cinderella, Traditional

Some of the native cultivars of this foreign land have begun to prove themselves to be quite useful. Pumpkin Planting allows you to grow and harvest pumpkins from fields.

About

Pumpkin icon.png Pumpkins are the product of a Pumpkin Harvest. If you don't have access to Seeds of Pumpkin for Planting, you will need to Plant a New World Gourd icon.png New World Gourd in Gardening Pot icon.png Gardening Pot, which has a 1 and 3 chance to become a Baby Bear icon.png Baby Bear. A Baby Bear can then be Sliced for 6x Pumpkin Seeds icon.png Pumpkin Seeds.

Seeds of Pumpkin can be stored in a Planter's Pouch such as a Leather Planter's Pouch icon.png Leather Planter's Pouch, Cotton Planter's Pouch icon.png Cotton Planter's Pouch, Egyptian Cotton Planter's Pouch icon.png Egyptian Cotton Planter's Pouch, or Sea Island Planter's Pouch icon.png Sea Island Planter's Pouch.

Planting

Initially 50x Seeds of Pumpkin icon.png Seeds of Pumpkin are required when Planting Pumpkin icon.png Pumpkins.

Farming Purity

The Purity of crops Harvested from a Till Field icon.png Tilled Field is based on a combination of the Purity of the Tilled Field, the Purity of the Seeds used when Planting, and chance, which may increase or decrease the Purity of a Harvest by a few percent. Each time the Harvest is higher than the Tilled Field's Purity that Field's Purity will permanently increase by up to 1%.

Harvesting

Pumpkin icon.png Pumpkins can be Harvested at three Growth Stages. Pumpkins from the 3rd Growth Stage are considered Large.

There are 12 different varieties of Pumpkin which can be produced from a Till Field icon.png Tilled Field. The variety you get depends on the total accumulated Influence of the Green and the Blue bars as well as the Growth Stage. Growing Pumpkins adds to the Pink bar.

Tier Growth Stage Pumpkin Influence
1 One Baby Bear icon.png Baby Bear Total accumulated Influence is less than 100
Two Autumn Gold icon.png Autumn Gold
Three Aspen icon.png Aspen
2 One Small Sugar icon.png Small Sugar 100 to 150 total Influence, but with more Green than Blue.

How to Plant in a Gardening Pot

  1. Select 1x Humus icon.png Humus and left-click it onto your Gardening Pot icon.png Gardening Pot.
  2. If not, Select a Vessel with at least .20L of filled with Potable Water icon.png Potable Water and left-click it onto your Gardening Pot. A Gardening Pot can hold up to 1L of Potable Water. Each planting will reduce the filled amount by .20L.
  3. Select the Potable item you wish to plant and left-click it onto your Gardening Pot. Planting in Gardening Pots lowers Insanity.
  4. Wait 3 days. Learning the Horticulture and Green Thumb Skills, as well as using the Store bought Gardener's Pot icon.png Gardener's Pot will reduce the time for plants to ripen.
  5. Once ripe, the plant's model will change. The Yield for non-bushes and Trees is two, unless you had the Store bought Garden Shovel icon.png Garden Shovel equipped when planting in which case the default Yield is 3. When planting you will receive a bonus Yield which is determined by chance and your Herbs & Sprouts icon.png Herbs & Sprouts Proficiency. You will see your bonus Yield pop up in green as you add your Potable plant. At any point you may check the current Yield by right-clicking on your planted Gardening Pot.
  6. Ripe plants can now be picked by right-clicking the Gardening Pot and selecting "Pick". Bushes and Trees which have sprouted can be planted by Lift icon.png Lifting the Gardening Pot and then right-clicking the ground and selecting "Plant".

Gardening Purity

Three factors influence Gardening Purity. The Purity of the Humus icon.png Humus, the Purity of the Plant, and the Purity of the Gardening Pot icon.png Gardening Pot. The Harvested Plant will be the average Purity of these three factors weighted towards the Humus. The formula is: Resulting Plant = ((Humus*2)+Pot+Initial Plant)/4. Any time the Resulting Plant's Purity is higher than the Gardening Pot's, the Gardening Pot's Purity will permanently increase by up to 2.56%. You may check your Gardening Pot's Purity by right-clicking it.
