Fresh Boards are obtained by placing a Log on a Sawbuck and using a Saw to Make Boards by right clicking on the loaded Sawbuck. A fresh Log will produce at least 30 boards. A Coffin Plank will sometimes be created rather than a Fresh Board. Be careful and set it aside right away so you don't use it as a board.

A Timber Pile must be built to turn Fresh Boards to Dry Boards and from there into Planed Boards, then Oiled Boards. Boards that fail to become a Dry Board will instead become a Moldy Board. Players may turn Moldy Boards back to Fresh Boards by licking them clean. However, doing so will add a huge amount of Insanity.

Any Recipe that uses a Board can also use a Fresh Board.
