Some of the native cultivars of this foreign land have begun to prove themselves to be quite useful. Pumpkin Planting allows you to grow and harvest pumpkins from fields.
About
Pumpkins are the product of a Pumpkin Harvest. Right-click a Pumpkin and select Slice to divide a Pumpkin into 
Pumpkin Flesh and 
Seeds of Pumpkin.
If you don't have access to Seeds of Pumpkin for Planting, you will need to Plant a 
New World Gourd in 
Gardening Pot, which had a 1 and 3 chance to become a 
Baby Bear. A Baby Bear can be Sliced for 6x 
Pumpkin Seeds along with 2x Pumpkin Flesh.
Seeds of Pumpkin can be stored in a Planter's Pouch such as a 
Leather Planter's Pouch, 
Cotton Planter's Pouch, 
Egyptian Cotton Planter's Pouch, or 
Sea Island Planter's Pouch.
Planting
To Plant a Pumpkin Field, you must Prepare your 
Tilled Field with 
Humus. Select the Humus you want to add to your Field from your inventory and right-click it onto your field. Once your Field is Prepared, select the Seeds of Pumpkin you wish to plant. It will initially takes 50 seeds to plant. Once the seeds are planted, you can Fertilize your Fields. After a period of time, your crops will grow and you can then Harvest them.
The Purity of the resulting Crop is based upon the Purity of the Field, the Purity of the Seeds, and a RNG factor which can increase or decrease the Harvest by a few percent. Each time the Harvest is higher than the Field Purity that Field's Purity will permanently increase by up to 1%.
Harvesting
Pumpkins can be Harvested at any one of their three Growth Stages. Pumpkins from the 3rd Growth Stage are considered Large. Large Pumpkins can be used to make a 
Pumpkin Head Masque.

Place Seeds of Pumpkin in a 
Press to obtain 
Pumpkinseed Oil. Corn Oil can be used in recipes or in place of 
Vegetable Oil. Pressing Pumpkins Seeds will yield Pumpkinseed Oil at a rate of .75 Liters for every 10 seeds.
