Long cultivated by the natives Maize Planting allows for you to harvest and plan the various strains of Corn.
About
 Corn is both the product of a mature Corn Harvest and the seed. If you don't have access to Corn for Planting, it can be initially purchased for 1250x  Silver Pieces from the Stalls in Providence.
Corn can be stored in a Planter's Pouch such as a  Leather Planter's Pouch,  Cotton Planter's Pouch,  Egyptian Cotton Planter's Pouch, or  Sea Island Planter's Pouch.
Planting
Initially 50x Corn are required when Planting Corn.
Farming Purity
The Purity of crops Harvested from a  Tilled Field is based on a combination of the Purity of the Tilled Field, the Purity of the Seeds used when Planting, and chance, which may increase or decrease the Purity of a Harvest by a few percent. Each time the Harvest is higher than the Tilled Field's Purity that Field's Purity will permanently increase by up to 1%.
Harvesting
Corn can be Harvested at two growth stages, yielding either  Baby Corn or Corn if you allow it to mature. Only the second stage will give you the Seeds which will allow you to replant a Tilled Field, so don't be too eager to Harvest your Crop unless you specifically want Baby Corn. When Harvesting mature Corn you will also receive a  Corn Husk and rarely, a  Curious Indian Corn.
There are 4 different varieties of Corn which can be produced from a Tilled Field. The variety you get depends on the total accumulated influence of the Red and the Blue bars. Growing Corn adds to the Green bar.

Corn Meal
To obtain  Cornmeal, grind the appropriate Corn using the Mill Flour recipe on a  Grindstone,  Copper Grinder, or  Windmill. Each 25x Corn produces 2.00 kilograms of Cornmeal.
All Cornmeals can be stored in a Dry Goods Bag or a Dry Goods Container.
Corn Oil
To make  Corn Oil, with the appropriate  Any Corn placed inside, right-click the  Press and select "Press". To extract the Oil, select a Storage Vessel and right-click it on the Press. Maize Planting is made at a rate of .5 liters per 10x Seeds. Corn Oil counts a  Vegetable Oil in recipes.
