With Any Shovel icon.png Any Shovel equipped, Dig icon.png Digging on a Clay Pit icon.png Clay Pit will produce Clay icon.png Clay. When Digging for, or crafting Clay, you will rarely receive a Misshapen Lump of Clay icon.png Misshapen Lump of Clay instead. Clay is also found by chance when Digging Dirt icon.png Dirt. Clay can be placed inside a lit Kiln icon.png Kiln to produce a Brick icon.png Brick or rarely Brick of Fallen Babel icon.png Brick of Fallen Babel, Brick of Fallen Jericho icon.png Brick of Fallen Jericho, or Brick of Fallen Sodom & Gomorrah icon.png Brick of Fallen Sodom & Gomorrah. Clay has a unique Pavement style and can be stored in a Stockbin icon.png Stockbin.

How to Make Clay

  1. Fill a Vessel with Potable Water icon.png Potable Water.
  2. Select a Lime and right-click it on your Vessel of Potable Water to make Milk of Lime icon.png Milk of Lime.
  3. Select your Milk of Lime and right-click it on your Clay Trough icon.png Clay Trough. A Clay Trough can hold 10x Bucket icon.png Buckets (100 Liters) of Milk of Lime.
  4. With Any Shovel icon.png Any Shovel equipped, Dig icon.png Dig the ground to get Dirt icon.png Dirt, which you will hold over your head. You can carry up to 15x clumps of Dirt.
  5. With the Dirt over your head right-click the Clay Trough to dump in the Dirt. This will produce 1x Clay icon.png Clay for each clump of Dirt you drop in. Each clump of Dirt will consume .5 Liters of Milk of Lime, so a full Clay Trough can produce 200x Clay before needing to be re-filled.

Fertilizer

Clay is a one use Fertilizer icon.png Fertilizer which will add to a Till Field icon.png Tilled Field's Influence, bu reduce it's Speed.
