Lime can be found rarely on the ground, but more commonly 
Granite Boulders are found scattered across the surface of the New World. With the Colonial Tradesmanship Skill learned, these Boulders can be Chipped to receive Granite. Once the Quarrying Skill has be learned you can

A 
Boomstick can be used to blow up a Boulder. To blow up a Boulder select your Boomstick from your inventory and right-click it on a source of Fire, such as a lit 
Torch or 
Fireplace. This will turn your Boomstick into a 
Lit Boomstick. You must now quickly select your Lit Boomstick and right-click it onto the Boulder you wish to blow up. Blowing up a Boulder will scatter it's Stones in a short radius around where the Boulder was. You can then pick them up if you wish to save them.
