Note that the mushrooms you gather are poisoned before you cook them. They will drain your maximum humours by up to 20%, reducing over time (the debuff can take over half an hour to wear off completely). This poison can be removed through boiling in a [[Cauldron]], [[Clay Pot]] or [[Copper Pot]]. [[Witch's Hat]], [[Waxing Toadstool]], [[Waning Toadstool]], [[Yellow Morel]] and [[Spooky Redcap]] are poisonous. All other mushrooms are safe.

The icon will change when the mushroom has been boiled (being now poison free) and the name will change to [[Boiled Witch's Hat]].

About

A Boiled Witch's Hat icon.png Boiled Witch's Hat is made by boiling a Witch's Hat icon.png Witch's Hat in a Clay Pot icon.png Clay Pot, Copper Pot icon.png Copper Pot, or Cauldron icon.png Cauldron. With the Fungiculture skill learned, a Boiled Witch's Hat can still be planted in a Gardening Pot icon.png Gardening Pot to grow a Waning Toadstool. When planting a Boiled Witch's Hat there is a chance for it to grow into a Spooky Redcap icon.png Spooky Redcap instead. Planting Mushrooms in Gardening Pots lowers Insanity. A Boiled Witch's Hat can be stored in a MushiSack icon.png MushiSack. Both a Boiled Witch's Hat and a Witch's Hat count as a Witch's Hat when planting and in Food recipes. NOTE: There is a chance that even after Boiling, a Witch's Hat will still be poisonous.
