In-Game Text
Your skin is lacerated and blood begins to flow from the wound. Bleeding will slowly lower your current blood at a speed depending on the intensity of the lacerations. You may stop the bleeding early with a tourniquet.
Bleed
A Bleed quickly drains Blood with the higher the severity of the Bleed the faster the drain. If your Blood reaches 0 you will be Knocked Out. Bleed is caused by taking damage from certain attacks by Creatures such as Bears, Beavers, Cougars, Darkenbears, March Hares, and Wishpooshes. The first attack will start the Bleed and each subsequent attack will increase the Bleed's severity. Bleed's severity will stack significantly faster during a Blood Moon. Each time you lose Blood due to Bleed it will leave a Blood Splatter on the ground, unless you have any Cotton in your inventory it will instead absorb the Blood and become Blood Soaked Cloth.
Healing Bleed
While it is possible for Bleed to slowly go away on its own, it is faster and safer to apply a Tourniquet, especially when your Bleed is especially severe. To apply a Tourniquet right-click your Tourniquet while under the Bleed effect.
