A  Cougar is an aggressive Creature which can be found in nearly all the biomes of the New World, but is most commonly found in on  Mountains. Cougars are camouflaged which can make them hard to spot.
Combat Behavior
Cougars are aggressive and fast; they will attack any pilgrim who wanders too close. A Cougar will alternate between its  Claws which, if they lands, will cause you to  Bleed and its  Leap At attack which can launch it several tiles and if it lands, will cause you to be  Stunned for 5 seconds. Due to a Cougar's speed and the duration of its Stun, you can easily get Stun-locked when fighting a Cougar. It is better to Stun a Cougar while you stand behind obstacles and when it becomes Stunned, run in close and make a more powerful attack. Then retreat and repeat. Cougars are immune to  Venom Darts.

A Cougar carcass will Decay in about 2 days. With the Hideworking Skill learned, Skinning a Cougar will yield 1x  Raw Cougar Hide.
NOTE: It is important to Skin the carcass first, otherwise the Butchering will ruin the Hide.

There is a chance to get various rare items from Butchering. This chance is much higher with the Viscera & Bits Skill learned.
