AboutTorchpost are Aggressive Defense Structures with a range of 22x tiles and an Ammo Capacity of 300, which can be filled selecting Any Tinder (10 Ammo) and right-clicking it on your Torchpost. A Torchpost will stop firing if it runs out of Ammo, but can be deactivated early by Damaging it down to 50%. While clicking on a Torchpost shows its Purity, there is currently no way to raise this. Aggressive Defense StructuresAggressive Defense Structures are Structures that require Fuel and are activated to fire on Criminals as soon as a Crime! is committed on Protected land within their range. Aggressive Defense light and fire automatically as long as they have ammo.
Aggressive Defense DamageAll Aggressive Defense Structures do a base amount of Black Bile which scales negatively with the more of the SAME Aggressive Defense Structures which are within its range. For instance this means the more Blazing Brazier which overlap in range, the less Black Bile damage each will do per shot. This however, is largely moot, as the real power of Aggressive Defenses is their ability to deal Critical Damage. For each shot there is a 5-10% chance the shot will Critically Hit, which will deal a high % of Black Bile damage and a smaller % of Blood damage based on the Criminal's remaining Humours. Crit Chance for Braziers can be increased by raising your Brazier's Purity. Overall what this means is that because the current goal of Aggressive Defense is Critical Damage spam, having MORE Aggressive Defenses Structures is almost always a better Defense than having just a few. Building StructuresSelecting a structure from the build menu or its sub-menus will place a Building Blueprint Sign at the position of the cursor and then clicking a valid building location on the ground will place the sign and open a window prompting the player to deposit the necessary materials and build the structure. Each material is followed by a series of three numbers.
Players can take their time building structures by depositing and committing resources to the build sign by clicking the "build" button. The character will build as much of the structure as they can with the available resources. They can return with more resources in the future. Note that if no resources are deposited, the build sign will disappear when the player walks away. If resources are deposited, but the player hasn't built them into the structure, the uncommitted resources will slowly disappear over time. This is to combat players using build signs as cheap and overpowered storage containers they can deposit and retrieve resources from. |
