In-Game Text
"These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat."
– Leviticus 11:9, King James' Bible
The far flung oceans across which you came hold, parallel to the rivers and lakes of this strange and wondrous land, a teeming multitude of life. Fishing allows you to fish, and to craft a primitive fishing pole.
A fisherman and his catch
About
The prize for registering a fish in the Leaderboard is a Crimson Carp.
How to Fish
- Select Any Bait and right-click it onto your Fishing Pole or Makeshift Fishing Rod. Lures can later be removed by right-clicking the Rod.
- Equip your now baited Rod to you right hand slot.
- Select Fish action, this will cause the cursor to change.
- Click on any Body of Water. Casting a Rod removes a small amount of Insanity.
- If Any Fish bites it will be transferred automatically to your inventory. There is a chance nothing bites. Each time you cast it adds wear to both your Lure and your Rod. When the wear reaches 100% it will break. Wear is reduced by your Flora & Fauna proficiency.
Currently it doesn't seem that there isn't a strong correlation between Bait, Rod, or location other than Salt vs Fresh Water.
Fish Purity
Any Fish caught will take their Purity directly from the Bait used to catch it. A Fish Hook takes on the Purity of the Bar of Any Metal used in its construction. This Purity is passed onto Any Lure which is made from it. A Common Earthworm receives its Purity from Worm Purity and a Grub's purity comes from Bug Purity.
Equipment
Rods
Equipping a baited Rod allows you to Fish. The more durable the Rod the slower it will wear and the longer it will last before breaking.
