About
Butterflies are found flying around all Biomes during an Everbloom. Equipping a Bugcatcher's Net in your right hand allows you to click on and catch Butterflies in the wild.
A Butterfly Conservatory, when Any Butterflys are placed inside, will pollinate nearby Fruit Trees during an Everbloom. A Butterfly Conservatory has a longer range than a Bee Skep but cannot transfer Purity onto the Fruit Trees so ultimately a Bee Skep is preferable.
NOTE: Catching Any Butterfly removes a small amount of Insanity.
Caterpillars
Caterpillars can be found in the wild, in Myrtle Oak Tree, or found by chance when Dissecting an Argopelter Gizzard.
To give your Caterpillar a Purity, select it from your inventory and right-click it on Any Plant. The Any Butterfly will consume the Plant and gain that Plant's Purity.
A Caterpillar's favorite food is Honeysuckle Kudzu. Sometimes when picking Honeysuckle Kudzu you will see a that there was a Caterpillar hiding underneath it. Each time you fed a Caterpillar a Honeysuckle Kudzu it's Minimum and Maximum gluttony Blood values will increase by +1. Each time your Caterpillar is fed a Honeysuckle Kudzu there is a chance the Caterpillar will turn into a Cocoon. A Cocoon left in a Container for a few days will become a Butterfly.
Right-clicking on a Cocoon and selecting the Set Free option gives you a Partially Deformed Caterpillar and a Cocoon Husk. A Cocoon Husk can be used as a Fibre.
Butterflies
Moths
While Mothes can be placed in a Butterfly Conservatory they do not work in place of Any Butterfly in recipes.
Right-clicking and selecting Cuddle to a Wool Blanket in your inventory will raise your Body Temperature to fight off the effects of Hypothermia. Over time a Wool Blanket will become Tattered. When left in a Container for long enough, it may be eaten by Moths and your Wool Blanket will be replaced with a Tattered Blanket and a Moth.
