There are 4 different varieties of Raw Cotton that can be produced from a Field. The variety you get depends on the total accumulated influence of the Red and the Green bars. Growing Cotton adds to the Blue bar.

Raw Indian Cotton	100 to 150 total Influence, but with more Red then Green.
Raw Egyptian Cotton	100 to 150 total Influence, but with more Green then Red.
Raw Sea Island Cotton	150+ total Influence, balance does not matter.

Cotton and Cloth

Using a Cotton Cleaner or a Loom Raw Cotton can be Cleaned into Cotton and Seeds of Cotton. Using a Loom this Cotton can be woven together to create Cotton Cloth. Generally this takes 10x Cotton, but this number can be reduced by using Clothing Slotted with Weaving Bonus Artifacts.
