With the Skill {{i|Polearms}} learned and a Polearm Equipped in both your hands, a pilgrim can use the {{i|Cleave}} combat move. Cleave is an Impact Attack which is best used when fighting more than one opponent, as this move has good damage a large radius that will hit anything around you.

By selecting a {{i|Whetstone}} from your inventory and right-clicking on a Polearm , you can Sharpen it, transferring the [[Purity]] from the Whetstone onto the Polearm and permanently increasing its damage. This will consume the Whetstone. Purity increases the amount of damage done by the Polearm by up to 10% for 100% Purity.

[[Artifacts]] which increase Impact Defense will reduce the damage you take from a Cleave. Artifacts which increase Impact Power increase the amount of damage Cleave does.
