About

A Cape Codfish icon.png Cape Codfish can be caught by commonly when Fish icon.png Fishing in Salt Water. Cape Codfish have a variable weight, starting from 0.50 kilograms and increaseing. For every 0.25 kilograms of weight you will receive a Filet of Cape Codfish icon.png Filet of Cape Codfish when right-clicking a Cape Codfish and selecting "Butcher". When Butchering a Fish you will also receive a Fish Skeleton icon.png Fish Skeleton and rarely Rainbow Scales icon.png Rainbow Scales, a Swim Bladder icon.png Swim Bladder, or The Elusive Last Bone icon.png The Elusive Last Bone. A Cape Codfish can be dried on a Drying Frame icon.png Drying Frame to make a Dried Cape Codfish icon.png Dried Cape Codfish or can be boiled in a Clay Pot icon.png Clay Pot or Copper Pot icon.png Copper Pot to make Fish Broth icon.png Fish Broth. Any Fish will add a variable amount of fill points when added to a Compost Bin icon.png Compost Bin based on their weight.

How to Fish

  1. Select Any Bait icon.png Any Bait and right-click it onto Any Casting Rod icon.png Any Casting Rod. Lures can later be removed by right-clicking the Rod.
  2. Equip your now baited Rod to you right hand slot.
  3. Select Fish icon.png Fish action, this will cause the cursor to change.
  4. Click on any Body of Water. Casting a Rod removes a small amount of Insanity.
  5. If Any Fish icon.png Any Fish bites it will be transferred automatically to your Inventory. There is a chance nothing bites. Each time you cast it adds wear to both your Lure and your Rod. When the wear reaches 100% it will break. Wear is reduced by your Flora & Fauna icon.png Flora & Fauna Proficiency.

Although still being tested, the strongest factors for catching a particular Fish seem to be whether it is Salt or Fresh Water and individual water tile being Fished from. Bait has a small influence and Rod does not seem to have any.
