About A Wilderness Smelter is an early game Ignitable Structure used to turn Bog iron into crude Bar of Slag Iron. Fueled with Charcoal. Break when done! Smelting Construct your Wilderness Smelter, fuel it with 10 x Charcoal and place 4 x Bog iron inside. Light the smelter with a source of fire and wait 1 hour. After waiting 1 hour the smelter will stop smoking and have a cracked appearance to it. Use the Destroy action to break the smelter open. With the smelter open you can now 'scrounge for iron.'
