With  Any Shovel equipped,  Digging on  Snow will produce  Packed Snow. Packed Snow will melt quickly in your Inventory, although it will last a bit longer during a  Coldsnap. Allowing Packed Snow to melt in your Inventory will fill a Vessel with 0.1 liters of  Glacier Water. Selecting a Packed Snow and right-clicking it onto another Packed Snow will make a  Snowball.
