Combat Behavior

Attack Blood Damage Effects
Bite icon.png Bite 0-6
Suck icon.png Suck 3-4.5

Bats are aggressive; they will attack any pilgrim who wanders too close. A Bat will fly towards it's attacker and if it gets close enough it will unequip any item in the Neck slot and attach itself there. Once attached it will begin to Suck icon.png Suck Blood. Bats suck between 3-4.5 Blood every couple of seconds. To remove an attached Bat, you must open your Equipment Window and ctrl+left-click the Bat in your Neck slot. This will not kill the Bat, so be prepared to fight it or Run icon.png Run away as it comes back to attach itself again. Stomp icon.png Stomp, with its AOE damage is a highly effective method of killing Bats. If another Bat has already attached to you, other Bats will use Bite icon.png Bite.

WARNING! A Bat will not detach, even if you are Knocked Out, leading to potential multiple KO's if you are not quick to act!

A Bat, once killed, can be picked up and stored in your inventory as a Dead Bat icon.png Dead Bat. Butchering a Dead Bat will yield 1-3x Bat Fang icon.png Bat Fangs.

Giant Bat

A Giant Bat icon.png Giant Bat is an aggressive Creature created by selecting a Dead Bat icon.png Dead Bat and right-clicking it on 8x Royal Jelly icon.png Royal Jelly. Feeding Royal Jelly to dead Creatures adds a small amount of Insanity.
