About

Torches can be held in the hand and are primarily used as a fire source.

While equipped, a torch can be lit by using it on a burning Fireplace, Pile of Wood, or Stove or by using a Tinder Drill or Flint & Steel on it. It can then be used to lit any object that require fire, and does so even faster than flint & steel. A torch will only remain lit while being held by your cursor, or while in an equipment slot; Placing it into your inventory, a container slot, or dropping it will extinguish the torch.

A torch can be refueled by using tinder on it, and is not destroyed when it burns to 0 fuel. (it simply goes out)

When wandering into Darkness, a torch may be used to mitigate the effects of Humor Drain, however it will never completely eliminate humor drain, only reduce the how quickly a players humors are drained.

Notes

  • Lighting a torch consumes 7% of it's max fuel instantly, and a torch with less than 8% fuel remaining cannot be lit.
  • Using tinder on the torch supplies it with 16% fuel.
  • A full torch burns for about 30 minutes before going out.
  • If players keep a fireplace or stove lit through their play sessions, the torch is one of the quickest, cheapest ways to light ovens, smelters, kilns, etc. (this is particularly easy to do with a stove, as a full stove will burn for 12 hours)
