About Tobacco is product of a Tobacco Harvest. If you don't have access to Seeds of Tobacco for Planting, they can be initially purchased for 500x Silver Pieces from the Stalls in Providence. Seeds of Tobacco can be stored in a Planter's Pouch such as a Leather Planter's Pouch, Cotton Planter's Pouch, Egyptian Cotton Planter's Pouch, or Sea Island Planter's Pouch. Smoking Tobacco Dry Tobacco on a Drying Frame for 2 days to produce Dry Tobacco Leaves. Using the Shred Tobacco recipe and a Copper Grinder or Grindstone Shred 12x Dry Tobacco Leaves to produce 3x Shredded Tobacco. Shredded Tobacco can be packed into a Cob Pipe, Scrimshaw Pipe, or Tobacco Pipe by selecting the Shredded Tobacco and right-clicking it on the Pipe. Equip your Pipe to your left hand slot. Right-click your equipped Pipe and select "Puff". Each Puff has a chance to reduce your Madness level by 1. The higher your Madness level and the higher the tier of Tobacco used, the higher the chance of dropping a Madness level. Select the Humus you want to add to your Field from your inventory and right-click it onto your field. Once your Field is Prepared, select the Seeds of Cotton you wish to plant. It will initially takes 50 seeds to plant. Once the seeds are planted, you can Fertilize your Fields. After a period of time, your crops will grow and you can then Harvest them. The Purity of the resulting Crop is based upon the Purity of the Field, the Purity of the Seeds, and a RNG factor which can increase or decrease the Harvest by a few percent. Each time the Harvest is higher than the Field Purity that Field's Purity will permanently increase by up to 1%. Harvesting When Harvesting Tobacco you will also receive Seeds of Tobacco. There are 4 different varieties of Tobacco that can be produced from a Field. The variety you get depends on the total accumulated influence of the Red and the Green bars. Growing Tobacco adds to the Blue bar. Tobacco Influence Broad-Leaf Tobacco Total accumulated Influence is less than 100 Bright-Leaf Tobacco 100 to 150 total Influence, but with more Red then Green. Shade-Leaf Tobacco 100 to 150 total Influence, but with more Green then Red. Gold-Leaf Tobacco 150+ total Influence, balance does not matter.
