Timber Rattler

About A Timber Rattler is an aggressive creature whose bite will cause you to become Poisoned. This debuff will cause your Phlegm to quickly drain until your are cured with a Rattler Serum or your Phlegm reaches 0, which will cause you to be Knocked Out. Timber Rattlers will attack anyone who gets too close to them. Timber Rattlers can be found throughout the New Wold, but are the most commonly found the Badlands and Crag Biomes. Rarely a Timber Rattler will spawn when lifting up Hollow Logs or Boulders. Note: A Timber Rattler will sink if killed over Shallow Water. Fighting Because a Timber Rattler bite will cause the Poisoned debuff, you typically want to kill it quickly to avoid getting bit. The safest way is aggro it with a Shot from a Slingshot, then use a Bullrun to Stun it, run away and then repeat. If you are Poisoned and don't have Rattler Serum on hand, the fastest way to get it is to port to Providence and buy it from the Stalls for 250x Silver Pieces. Rattler Serum can be carried easily in a Gadget Belt such as Snakeskin Belt, Highlander's Sporran, or Plymouth Rock Sash for just such emergencies. Resources A Timber Rattler, once killed, can be picked up and stored in your Inventory as a Dead Timber Rattler. When picking up a Dead Timber Rattler there is a chance to receive a Rainbow Scales. With the Hideworking skill, Butchering a Timber Rattler will yield: Raw Timber Rattler Skin x 1 With all relevant butchering skills (Field Dressing, Butcher's Thrift, Butchery and Venison Cuisine), butchering a single Timber Rattler will yield: Meat Shreds x 2 Raw Timber Rattler Cut x 2 Random chance to get various rare items from butchering.
