Shooting people is a good way to get them in combat, and does high damage.  Damage done by a Musket is about 25% of the target's total Blood, while damage done by a Pistol is about 5%.  However, there is a price, Muskets drain about 20% of your Black Bile, and Pistols about 10%.  Additionally, if you miss, you still lose your Black Bile. Hitting a player with a shot will cause them to be Snared which slows their run speed a great deal for a time. Muskets deal a more effective snare than Pistols.

Shoot icon.png Shoot is an Attack Move which allows for the firing of Ranged Weapons for a variety of effects. To Shoot, click the Shoot Attack and then click the cursor in the direction you wish to Shoot, however, if the target has moved, you will miss, so aim well. Shots do not travel over solid objects.

Shooting Firearms

With the Firearms Skill learned and a loaded Firearm type Weapon equipped, pilgrims can use the Shoot icon.png Shoot Combat Move. To load a Firearm, equipped any Firearm then select 5 grams of Gunpowder icon.png Gunpowder or a filled Powder Horn icon.png Powder Horn and right-click it on your Firearm. Repeat the process with your Musket Balls icon.png Musket Balls. To Shoot, click the Shoot Attack and then click the cursor in the direction you wish to Shoot. This will cause the action will channel as you aim your Firearm - using the At the Ready icon.png At the Ready Combat Maneuver reduces this channel time. Once the channel is complete your Firearm will Shoot in the direction you chose, however, if the target has moved, you will miss, so aim well. Shots do not travel over solid objects. Being shot with a Firearm does % Blood damage and causes to be temporarily Snared icon.png Snared for about 30 seconds. Each shot use 5x grams of Gunpowder and 1x Musket Ball. Shooting Creatures instead does a base amount of damage which is modified by chance. Shooting a Firearm will drain a percentage of your Black Bile. Damage from a Firearm is increased by your Common Combat Power Artifact Bonus and Common Combat Defense Artifacts will reduce the damage you take from a Firearm.

Throwing a Snowball

You can throw a Snowball icon.png Snowball at another pilgrim by equipping a Snowball to your left hand slot, click the Shoot icon.png Shoot Attack and then click the cursor in the direction you wish to throw. Getting hit by a Snowball will displace your current Mask to your Inventory and replace it with a Snow Mask icon.png Snow Mask. Throwing a Snowball at another pilgrim is NOT a Crime.
