About
Hollow Logs are most abundantly found in Forests, but can be found in nearly every Biome. They can be used as container with 6 slots, or Destroyed to produce Woodblocks.
A Stump from Chopping down a Tree will turn into a Hollow Log over time
Each time a Hollow Stump or Hollow Log is loaded from server there is a chance for one of these items to spawn at random inside:
- Beetle
- Abandoned Cobweb
- Dried Timber Rattler Skin
- Earthworm Python --- (Uncommon)
- Grub
- Indian Arrowhead
- Indian Feather --- (Uncommon)
- Lavender Blewit
- Lobster Mushroom
- Porcupine Spines --- (Rare)
- Rotten Log
- Rusty Coin
- x5 Silver Pieces --- (Uncommon)
- Smooth Stone
- Stone
- Stray Chestnut
- Sugar Caps
- Waxing Toadstool
- Whispering Snake Skull --- (Very Rare)
- Witch's Hat
- Worm
- Yellow Morel
Early Game
In the Early Game Hollow Logs and Hollow Stumps are a valuable source of Silver. Dried Timber Rattler Skins can be sold for 4 Silver and Indian Arrowheads and Indian Feathers can be combined into Savage Charms which sell for 30.
Additionally Abandoned Cobwebs and Dried Timber Rattler Skins can be used in Clothing recipes to avoid Hypothermia.
Mid Game
By Mid Game you may be thinking about setting up a permanent settlement. When choosing a location Hollow Logs and Hollow Stumps are a valuable indicator of how often an area is visited; the more often other pilgrims visit that area, the more full the the Hollow Logs and Hollow Stumps will be. Since you want to reduce the chance a raider or thief will find your settlement look to set up at a location where almost all the Hollow Logs and Hollow Stumps are empty.
- Earthworm Pythons become important now for the use in Farming and Purity.

To set up a Hollow Stumps plant Trees in a row and then Chop them down once they've matured. Allow the Stumps to turn into Hollow Stumps. Check frequently, making sure to empty unwanted contents.
