Worms such as Common Earthworms and Earthworm Pythons can have their Purity adjusted by feeding them Plants with higher Purity. To do this place a Worm in a Container such as a Woven Basket}}. Place your Pure Plants, such as Any Cabbage Leaf directly next to, above, or below the Worm. Worm's will not eat Plants which are diagonal to them. After a few hours the Worm will consume the Plants and take 10% of the the Plant's Purity. For example if the Plant had 40 Purity and the worm has 30, it will gain 10% of the difference which is 1 and end up having a Purity of 31. Generally it is more effective to use Earthworm Pythons than Common Earthworms for this as a Compost Bin needs fewer Earthworm Pythons to reach max efficiency.

Worms pass their Purity to the Humus they produce in a Compost Bin. This Purity is determined by the average Purity of all the Worms inside the Compost Bin and the Worm Efficiency. Humus is one of three components for Gardening Purity.

About

A Common Earthworm icon.png Common Earthworm can be found by chance when Rummaging through an Abandoned Bird's Nest icon.png Abandoned Bird's Nests, inside Hollow Log icon.png Hollow Logs, Hollow Stump icon.png Hollow Stumps, working Compost Bin icon.png Compost Bins, Dissecting a Frog icon.png Frog, and when Dig icon.png Digging. Selecting a Common Earthworm and right-clicking it on a Royal Jelly icon.png Royal Jelly will cause it to transmute into a n Earthworm Python icon.png Earthworm Python. A Common Earthworm can be used as a 1 use Any Bait icon.png Any Bait when Fish icon.png Fishing. When used as Any Bait an Earthworm will NOT add wear to your Fishing Pole.

Worm and Humus Purity

Common Earthworm icon.png Common Earthworms and Earthworm Python icon.png Earthworm Pythons can have their Purity raised by allowing them to eat Any Plant icon.png Any Plant with a higher Purity than their own. To do this place a Worm in a Container and place your pure Any Plants directly next to, above, or below the Worm. After a few hours the Worm will eat one of the Plants and take 10% of the difference between the Plant's Purity and the Worm's Purity. Additionally Common Earthworms found when Rummaging an Abandoned Bird's Nest icon.png Abandoned Bird's Nest will take on the Purity of the Tree icon.png Tree it came from. Worms in turn pass their Purity to the Humus icon.png Humus they produce in a Compost Bin icon.png Compost Bin based on the average Purity of ALL the Worms inside the Compost Bin and its Worm Efficiency. For this reason it is recommended you regularly check on your Compost Bin and remove any unwanted Worms that spawn as they will lower your average Purity. Humus is one of three components for Gardening Purity. Additionally a Common Earthworm found while Rummaging an Abandoned Bird's Nest will have the Purity of the Tree icon.png Tree it came from.
