About

A Beaver icon.png Beaver is a non-aggressive Creature that is commonly found on Beaches icon.png Beaches, in The Shallows icon.png The Shallows, or Marshland icon.png Marshland Biome. They are generally regarded as less dangerous than Deer icon.png Deer, but more dangerous than a Rabbit icon.png Rabbit.

Fighting

NOTE: Artifacts which add Blunt Power, Common Combat Power, Impact Power, and Piercing Power will help make certain Attack move more successful. Artifacts with Feral Defense will lower the Blood damage you take from an animal's attack.

Beavers have two main attacks:

  • Bite - This is a Beaver's basic attack. If this attack lands it may cause you to Bleed icon.png Bleed.
  • Whirling Dance of Doom - If, during combat, you put too much distance between you and the Beaver, a ominous music will play and the Beaver will start a dangerous spinning dance. This dance causes other nearby Beavers to also dance and attack you. When fighting a Beaver it is best to stay up close, or run away when the dance begins and wait for it to end.

Resources

With the Beaver Skinning skill, Skinning a Beaver will yield:

Note: It is important to Skin the Beaver before Butchering, otherwise you will ruin the Hide.

With all relevant butchering skills (Butcher's Thrift, Butchery, Field Dressing, and Tanning), Butchering a Beaver will yield:

Random chance to get various rare items from Butchering. Chance of dropping, and sometimes also the potential quantity, is much higher with Viscera & Bits.

Beavers fatten up during Coldsnaps to stay warm. Killing them during a Coldsnap will increase the chance to get Gelatinous Lard when Butchering.
