About

Beaver icon.png Beaver is a non-aggressive creature that is common found at Beaches, Shallow Water, or Marshland biomes. They are less dangerous than Deer, but more dangerous than Rabbits.

Combat Behavior:

When fighting a beaver, if it is too far away from the fighter, music will begin to play and the beaver will start a dangerous spinning dance. This can cause nearby beavers to attack the person and do the same spinning dance. If you can run away, the dance will eventually end.

Resources

With the Beaver Skinning skill, skinning a single Beaver will yield:

NOTE: It is important to skin the Beaver first, or the butchering will ruin the skin.

With all relevant butchering skills (Butcher's Thrift, Butchery, Field Dressing, and Tanning), butchering a single Beaver will yield:

Random chance to get various rare items from butchering. Chance of dropping, and sometimes also the potential quantity, is much higher with Viscera & Bits.

There's also a chance for a Gelatinous Lard icon.png Gelatinous Lard drop during a Cold Snap. With Viscera & Bits the potential drop is increased to 2 (this extra lard can also be gotten in any season).
