Any time a recipe calls for a Whittler's Bench, a Carpenter's Bench can be used instead. Using a Whittler's Bench removes a small amount of Insanity. WARNING! When crafting on a Whittler's Bench with higher Madness levels you may receive a Timber Terror Fetish which will subtract 1 from your Hammer & Nail for each recipe you craft.
