Hollow Logs are most abundantly found in Forests, but can be found in nearly every Biome. They can be used as Container with 8 slots, or, with Any Axe equipped Woodblocks can be chopped from a Hollow Log. Each time a Woodblock is Chopped there is a chance to get a Knotted Wood Block instead. It costs 0.1-0.2 Phlegm for each Woodblock cut from a Log. The only way to spawn a new Hollow Log is by Chopping down a Exploration Events or an Exploration Events.

Item Spawning
By Mid Game you may be thinking about setting up a permanent settlement. When choosing a location Hollow Logs and Hollow Stumps are a valuable indicator of how often an area is visited; the more often other pilgrims visit that area, the more full the the Hollow Logs and Hollow Stumps will be. Since you want to reduce the chance a raider or thief will find your settlement look to set up at a location where almost all the Hollow Logs and Hollow Stumps are empty.

As long as there is at least one empty space, each time a Hollow Stump is loaded from server there is a chance for one of these items to randomly spawn inside.

*Earthworm Pythons become important now for the use in Farming and Purity.
