New players should consider a Makeshift Fishing Rod before making this pole as the Makeshift Fishing Rod is much easier and cheaper to make. To add bait to the pole pick up the bait and right click the pole.

During use, the rod wears down, which is lowered by how high your Frontier & Wilderness proficiency is. The rate of wear is however lower than a Makeshift Fishing Rod.

NOTE: Casting your fishing pole removes a small amount of Insanity.
