To enter your Canoe it must first be placed in Water either by Ctrl + left-clicking on an Canoe equpied to your Backpacks Slot, or by Carrying it there. Right-clicking on your Canoe and choosing Avast! will cause you to slowly get into the Canoe. Holding a 
Wooden Paddle will allow you to get in faster. Ctrl + right-click to disembark from the Canoe. You can Load objects by Carrying them and right-clicking on the Canoe, and unload them again by right-clicking on the sack in the Canoe. A Canoe Can hold 1 objects, and 1 driver. However, you cannot retrieve items stored in a Canoe unless it is right-side up on the Water; when a Canoe is placed on land it is upside down and the object inside will therefore be hidden from view and not clickable.
