About

There are three types of keys in Salem: Master Copy of Key, Slave copy of key and the "key" type itself. The later one is made from a master copy (independent who own the master copy as long as you have it in your inventory) and can be used to make more of this key type (aka other keys that can be copied and copied etc). Or you can use it to make it Slave Copy of Key which can only be associated with someone but no further copies can be me made from a slave key. The normal key can NOT be used to change locks at locked items or doors, for this you need the Master Copy of Key.

  • Use a Key on a Lock by right-clicking to associate the lock with the key.
  • Add a Lock to Chest, Gate, or door by selecting the lock and right-clicking.
  • To transfer a key to another person so they may use it, you must have the master key. Select the key and right-click with it at the person you would like to transfer it to. Note the key name color will change from green (allowed to use) to red (not allowed to use).
  • Keys may be stored on a Keyring. Keyrings can be equipped.
