About

A peaceful creature often found wandering the grasslands and forests of Salem. Deer make good sources of meat and provide hides for creating Leather.


With the Hideworking skill, skinning a single deer will yield:

With all butchering skills acquired (Field Dressing, Butcher's Thrift , Butchery, Tanning and Venison Cuisine), butchering a single deer will yield:



  • Random chance to get Stringy Sinew icon.png Stringy Sinew per meat cut
  • Random chance to get Deer Hoof icon.png Deer Hoof before the brain, with a cap of 2 max per deer by default. Increased to a maximum of 4 per deer with the Viscera & Bits skill.


Note: It is important to skin the deer first, or the butchering will ruin the skin. (observed to not be the case anymore, i think. - Written on august 30th 2014)

Combat Behaviour

Deers will either approach the player and attempt a head buck for 8 base damage, or start charging at the player with their Bullrun which does a base of 15 damage. Usually they only Bullrun if they have a bit of distance between themselves and the player.
