A Dead Silk Runner is received when killing a Silk Runner. When picking up a recently killed Dead Silk Runner there is a small chance to also receive a Bug in a Blanket. A Dead Silk Runner can be boiled in a Clay Pot or Copper Pot for 30 minutes to make a Tuft of Spider Silk or rarely Spider Egg Sacs.
