Argopelter

About

Argopelters can only be found in Darkness within Autumnal or Coniferous biomes. They spawn in packs of up to 5. Interestingly, they seem to have the propensity to follow a player for short distances even while not engaged in combat. Once within close range, the argopelter will inevitably attack the player if the player fails to move away in time. If there is a nearby tree, the argopelter will immediately move to climb it and begin pelting the player with sticks, dealing highly variable damage (0.3 to 33.8) which will quickly incapacitate the player. It is not possible to attack the argopelter while it is in the tree. The only way to remove the argopelter from the tree is to cut the tree down. The argopelter will then simply move into the next adjacent tree. It may be useful to confuse the argopelter by building a maze of makeshift fences around the bases of trees. Butchering an Argopelter does not always yield beak.

WARNING: Becoming KO'ed by an argopelter will result in the character becoming stuck in the KO state for excessively long periods of time. This is a known bug.
