Crop Growth and Rotation

Influence

A field has four influences that affect the growth of various crops and the type of product they produce. The following image is displayed for a field that is not planted:

In this image, the 1st meter has about 5% and the other meters are empty.

Each crop consumes 5% of a full bar for two influences and increases the value of one influence by at least 5% (this increase is modified by the influence boost for the field, see below, and the boost is improved if you have the Three-field System skill).

  • Note: There is currently a possible bug where all crops actually drain 5% from every meter besides the one it contributes to. So for example, instead of Cabbage draining 5% from only the 3rd and 4th meters, it also drains 5% from the 2nd meter as well. The amount it contributes to the meter it produces output to seems unchanged.

The easiest way of taking advantage of this system is to designate a primary crop for each field and rotate crops that raise the influences it needs to get better products for that crop. Fertilizer can be used to boost the target influences faster. For example, for better types of cereal, you can rotate the cabbage and pumpkins to raise the first and fourth influence.

Crop Tiers

Crops will produce new types as the influence gets high enough. The following is a table of the various tiers of crops.

The type of product produced by a field is determined by the sum of the two influences values used by the crop (the values given are the percentage of the influence meter filled, so if both meters are completely filled, the total influence would be 200%):

  • if the total influence is between 0% and 50% the field produces all tier 1 products.
  • if the total influence is between 50% and 100% the field produces both tier 1 and tier 2 products.
  • if the total influence is between 100% and 150% the field produces tier 2 products.
  • if the total influence is between 150% and 200%, the field produces both tier 2 and tier 3 products.

The tier 2 product produced is determined by the higher of the two influences (the product order in the previous table shows the tier 2 product with the lower numbered influence first).

Rotation

This table shows a way to get Tier 3 crops (Wanted Result) while getting particular Tier 2 products (2nd Rotation). In this case you want the second crop to actually use influence bar raised by first crop, in order to get higher tier results while raising influence for the final product. Items in brackets in 3rd column are possible 2nd tier products you may receive.
