Sift Rubble to get various resources like Black Sand, Gems and Goldflakes. Finding a Gem while sifting reduces a bit of Insanity. However, any gem found during a Blood Moon will instead be a Blood Shard.
Each piece of Rubble has a Hardness based on chance and the Mines & Mountains of the player who chipped it. That Hardness will transfer over onto any Gemstone which is found in that rubble. See Gemcutter's Wheel for more information.
