A lock can be attuned to a set of keys by using a Key or Master Copy of Key on the lock while it is in the your inventory. You can then apply the attuned lock to a door, gate, or chest. You can replace a lock with a new one if you have the original master key (or a copy) when applying the new lock.
Note: if you apply an unattuned lock to a door, gate, or chest, it can never be attuned and the item becomes permanently locked.
